Below we have restaurants, cafes, bars, and things to do that are a great jumping off point for planning your time in Portland. This city has an amazing food and coffee scene, along with some great shops and local businesses. Yelp and Google Maps will always steer you in the right direction, but we hope these help too!
Food cart pods are a staple of Portland, and this one is the closest to the Jupiter hotels. Perfect for groups where you want different types of food!
Eem is our fav spot for visitors. Thai bbq fusion with great drinks and no misses on the menu!
Kann is a beautiful, high end Haitian restaurant. Reservations are def a must and they book up early!
Kachka is a Soviet/eastern European restaurant with very unique delicious options!
Nostrana has great Italian food and ambiance. Reservations recommended!
Better Days Cafe is a great spot for delicious, fun lattes and matcha. Super vibey, and on a street with a ton of cute shops!
Grendel's Coffee House is walking distance from the Jupiter Hotels, and has a great selection of coffee and food, including delicious sandwiches at a great price!
Shroom Coffee Bar offers both normal and mushroom blend coffees, along with some food options! Also walking distance from the Jupiter hotels, and is very cute/trendy.
Pips is an icon of Portland. Their mini doughnuts are delicious, and they specialize in their chai lattes. Lines can be long on weekends, and we highly recommend looking at their menu online!
The Mont is perfect for a comfort food brunch; everything is delicious! They don't do reservations, but it is worth a wait.
The Alibi is an iconic tiki bar with karaoke every night. Delicious tropical drinks, and a guarantee to see meet a character.
Too Soon is a super cool cocktail bar, with great drinks, bites, atmosphere, and service! Bonus points for fun glassware for certain cocktails.
McMenamins bars are super eclectic and fun. They are located all over Portland (and throughout Oregon), and are always an easy pub option! Perfect for bringing a deck of cards and hanging out.
Birdie Time is a pub and indoor mini golf course. Great selection of beer and food, and it is open to all ages until 7pm daily!
Wayfinder beer is a great brewery, with a beautiful tap room! They offer delicious beers, ciders, and food, and they have a good amount of seating for larger groups.
Mt Tabor Park is a beautiful 190+ acre park on an extinct volcano in East Portland with beautiful trails and views of downtown. Bring a picnic, listen and look for birds, and enjoy getting your steps in!
Laurelhurst Park is a 31 acre park in East Portland with a large duck pond in the middle. It’s perfect for a casual stroll in a serene place.
Washington Park is just west of downtown, and has the International Rose Test Garden, the Portland Japanese Garden, Oregon Zoo, the Hoyt Arboretum, and hiking trails! The Japanese Garden and Zoo require tickets, but the rose garden and arboretum are free to explore. This is a popular spot, so plan extra time for parking.
The Columbia River Gorge is a vast scenic area with waterfalls, hikes, and cool spots. Some of our fav quick view spots are Multnomah falls, Bridal veil falls, and Latourell falls, and we love the hike to Wahclella falls or the Bonneville fish hatchery for a longer day! Google has great guides to plan your day.
Portland has a great selection of museums, including OMSI (great with kids), the Portland Art Museum (gorgeous, recently updated collection), and Pittock Mansion (historic home with a beautiful garden).
